Restorative YogaDo you feel like you need to keep busy?
Is it hard to stop and be still?
Are you tired and wired?
Or just tired?
Would you like some time out to just be, where you’re not time-bound, not having to work anything out or needing to be anyone – where you can unmask and feel a sense of ease and well-being, whilst gently opening different areas of the body?
Restorative yoga helps the body learn to relax. We often use TV, alcohol or other means to help us relax. Restorative yoga is a luxurious type of practice that uses bolsters and blankets to help support the body into deep rest.
Deep rest support all the systems in the body – e.g. hormonal, digestive, stress regulation, sleep.
You don’t need to be flexible or any ‘good’ at yoga, or need to have strength or energy. I am used to working with those with limited mobility, those with energy issues, or those that find it hard to get up off the floor because of physical limitations. Equally if you’re very fit, the counter balance often needed for the action it takes to be strong and fit is the time to rest and repair.
A lot of us only rest when we sleep and many of us don’t sleep well.
Being able to access the restful core of your being can help with feeling more resilient to lifes challenges, and give a sense of inner safety in a world that increasingly feels unsafe.
This course will offer a space for deep rest. I will help you with your props to make sure you’re as comfy as can be in the positions - and then gently guide you into states of rest and relaxation.
Its Yoga with your socks on.
