Restorative Practices in Action: From Research to Real-World Implementation
About this Event
What if student behavior became an opportunity for connection instead of exclusion?
Join iCan Dream Center, the Cook County Department of Public Health, and national partner Sandy Hook Promise for a dynamic professional learning experience focused on creating safer, more connected school communities through restorative practices.
This special event celebrates the release of the May 2026 Restorative Practices Research Study, developed in partnership with Sandy Hook Promise. Participants will hear directly from the study authors as they unpack key findings and discuss how schools can translate research into meaningful action.
The experience includes an engaging, hands-on workshop led by Brenda Boyd, who will provide practical restorative strategies that educators and providers can begin implementing immediately. Representatives from Sandy Hook Promise will also share national insights, emerging trends, and lessons learned from schools across the country.
Together, we'll explore how restorative practices can:
- Reduce suspensions and expulsions
