47th Annual Day of Reading Conference
About this Event
Secondary Reading League invites you to attend a fun and interactive workshop celebrating the joy of reading on our 47th Day of Reading!
Come join us for a day filled with learning and fun at the Tinley Park Convention Center. Our workshop will feature exciting activities, an engaging speaker, awesome vendors, and valuable insights into the world of reading. Join us for an enlightening session with a pioneering figure in education and literacy. Participants will receive 5.5 hours of CPDUs for attending.
Dr. Jenny French has been an impactful middle school teacher, a terrible cheerleading coach, and an overambitious literacy specialist. She tried being an associate professor, where she was a round peg in a very square, serious hole. She served as an effective district leader, juggling small budgets and big goals, while mentoring young leaders. She found her groove as an innovative curriculum designer and now works as a contented, occasionally overbooked, but genuinely successful educational researcher, consultant and leadership coach. Her career highlights include developing a national reading curriculum, surviving more than one school district’s tech upgrade, and gently telling very important people that their slides are ugly. She loves learning, coaching others, and color-coding things in Google Sheets. She misses grading middle school fiction, but please do not ask her to chaperone a field trip. Ever again.
Don't miss out on this opportunity to connect with fellow educators and book lovers to expand your knowledge. Mark your calendars and get ready for a day dedicated to the joy of reading!
