Respect My Boundaries Monument Tour (5mi Paddle)

A historic event !
We will tour the granite stone boundary markers drawn out by George Washington himself to set the original city limits of Washington, D.C.
I'm a bit of a nerdy history buff, so looking forward to this one again.
Planning that we can see 3 stones, 2 from the water and a slight hike to get to the 3rd one.
There will be some hiking and bush-whacking involved, and there will be some bugs out in the swamp. To get to the third marker stone, we will likely need shoes or boots of some kind, so come prepared.

~5.0 miles round trip.
Did this last year and it was an amazing day on the water.

Open to everyone (who has their own equipment)
We are expecting smooth flat calm water.
We welcome everyone who wants to join!
We will be going at a good ~3mph pace
This will be an adventure including slogging through the swamp

Very do-able 2-3 min walk with your gear across the lawn to a very slippery boat launch

We welcome everyone who wants to join,
Your Safety is your responsibility.
As always, we will be out on the water, so you are responsible for advocating for your safety at all times.
You are responsible for your equipment, and skills.
You must be comfortable that you and your gear are up to the challenge of the event.
Bring your own personal flotation, wetsuit, booties, etc.
Don't do this unless you know you can handle it.
No one else will ever be more responsible for you than you will. We will likely not be able to help out in case of any emergency.
Do not do anything that you feel is beyond your skill.
This will not be a beginner trip because of open water & distance
No rentals available, bring your own equipment.
We will cancel in the event of lighting, high winds, or heavy rain.
