About this Event

This is an opportunity to discover a fascinating and little-known chapter of Bradford's history, explore the history of women's activism and peace campaigning during WW1 snd hear directly from the artist about the making of Resist.

Claire is an artist, writer and researcher based in Bradford. Her practice explores textiles, heritage, place and community - often bringing together historical research, traditional textile processes and contemporary artistic practice.

Claire's work Resist reimagines the 1917 march through textiles, found materials, natural dyes and hundreds of hand-stitched marks. The repeated stitches echo the rhythm of walking , transforming each mark into an act of remembrance and resistance.
