Following a successful screening earlier this year, Bradford-made feature film tHE iNVISIBLES returns by popular demand to Darley Street Market this September as the start of monthly screenings to celebrate Bradford’s growing film culture and independent filmmaking.
Written and directed by Bradford filmmaker Sean Grundy, tHE iNVISIBLES is a funny, and unconventional romcom musical movie set during a weird new pandemic when a lover hides inside the walls of a house to have a secret affair, triggering a bizarre story of romance, obsession, music and human connection. It is inspired by a true story!
Made in Bradford with local collaborators, original songs and a proudly punky Do-It-Yourself spirit, the film has been described by audiences as “totally original”, “weird but hilarious” and “unlike anything else”.
The monthly screenings aim to build a regular meeting point for students, local filmmakers, film groups and audiences who love musicals, cult films and independent cinema while helping create new energy around Bradford’s filmmaking community.
The screenings will also include an informal post-film chat with Sean and collaborators about how they made it on no-budget using an approach the team call “rOUGH aS oWT cINEMA”. Plus, film-makers will be invited to create their own films to screen at Darley Street Market using the ‘rOUGH aS oWT’ approach.
