Remembering Lesbian Dallas: Community Photo Scan
Advertisement
Bring your photographs of Dallas lesbian life, nightlife, and community for scanning and preservation.
We are especially seeking images of lesbian bars and gathering places, including Sue Ellen’s, Desert Moon, Rumors, Moon Dreams, and Eden Lounge, as well as photographs of friendships, activism, parties, performances, organizations, sports teams, and everyday life.
Join us at Sue Ellen’s, 3014 Throckmorton Street, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 22. We will scan your materials on-site and return the originals to you. The scan takes place before The Dallas Way’s Raise a Glass: Stories from Dallas’s Lesbian Bars, beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Materials documenting other aspects of Dallas LGBTQ+ nightlife and community history are also welcome.
This event is part of The Way We Were: Dallas LGBTQ+ Nightlife, 1945–Today, a community archiving initiative organized by Badge Of Pride in collaboration with The Dallas Way, Dallas Social Queer Organization, and Coalition for Aging LGBT.
