Kinship, shared struggle, yearning…
Circling up to share our grief or simply to bare witness to others’ is perhaps one of the most radical acts we can do. Holding this space in a container of gratitude supports safety and resilience.
The earth teaches us to root and regenerate in these ways:
~ Release rage, tears, truth…like the rain, leaves and seeds!
~ Rest on the earth that holds you, in allowance: ‘you are welcome in my presence exactly as you are’.
~ Root down into the dark soil of transformation, source deep currents, and stabilize among invisible, mycelial connections.
~ Return to shared re-membering, nurture resilience in sync with the rhythms of nature.
Many of us struggle to find home, safety, belonging. Whether it’s economic pressures, the hurdles of raising a child in the broken village, feelings of unworthiness, or the weight of core wounds and ancestral grief, trying to ‘get over it’ and be strong all by ourselves simply doesn’t work.
Luckily, we are in a time of revival of ritual, earth connection, and cultural practices to reWild and reVillage. For many though, these are inaccessible for various reasons: limited income, raising small children alone, and others…
They say “Home is where your gifts are received.” Well, I can tell you I have been looking for that home for decades. And I have begun to find it, here in the circle around the fire…
We’ll be held by:
~ The core routine of Gratitude to begin & end.
~ A Talking Piece & gentle time keeping.
~ Council practice with each other & all beings, agreements & confidentiality, not advise, fixing, or correction.
~ An Invitation to share or simply listen.
~ Our simple, short container, allowing for tears or anger to arrive, they are welcome. Honouring them to the extent that we can, knowing that we are not in ritual, nor are we counselors or therapists.
~ A song, guided somatic meditation, or poem.
