Sunday 21st June 26 at 2pm : Free to all.
Save The Blean are delighted that John Moss, one of the Blean Church churchwardens has agreed to lead us around Blean’s medieval church, the famous salt road of the Crab and Winkle and the ancient Blean landscape. A walk of between 1 and 2 miles, with pauses to talk about its history and how it shaped the Blean and the wider Canterbury area.
John has a wealth of knowledge of this amazing countryside and its unique and colourful history. In fact recent archaeological digs found tools left by hunters of the Mesolithic (9,000 to 4,300 BC), a series of Bronze Age burial mounds, and a massive medieval enclosure ditch, related to the adjacent manor house which is mentioned in the Doomsday Book!
So to find out more about this incredible piece of Blean landscape book now.
