Join us for a show at the Banneker Planetarium, at the Community College of Baltimore County!K-3rd Grade 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM
4th Grade and up 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM
There will be 2 shows for the K-3rd grade students:
- “The Boy Who Hated the Nighttime”: The dark of nighttime can be scary, especially if you're not familiar with nighttime things. The planetarium sky will be the backdrop for the story of a little boy who becomes less scared after learning about constellations, the Moon, meteors, comets and aurora. The boy is also shown what to expect as the sky seems to shift during the night.
- “Earth, Moon & Sun”: Coyote has a razor-sharp wit, but he’s a little confused about what he sees in the sky. Join this amusing character (adapted from American Indian oral traditions) in a fast-paced and fun show that explores lunar phases, eclipses, and other puzzles. Engaging and Immersive, ‘Earth, Moon and Sun’ also examines how humans learn through space exploration.
The shows start promptly at their scheduled times. Please arrive early, so that everyone can have time to visit the restroom and get seated. Remember, there is no eating or drinking in the planetarium. Classes may be in session on campus, so be sure to use inside voices, and no running around.
