Reflections on Color and Movement
Color, in its stillness, is absent, nothing more than a deferred matter, without life or meaning. In its industrial isolation, in its raw form, it remains neutral, without action. Yet once imagination touches it, it begins to break free, like someone emerging from silence to try speaking for the first time.
My hand rescues color from slumber, granting it a temperament and a face, a beating heart, and a voice that protests or clamors. With every movement, its path converses with my will; at times it resists me, at times it obeys, guiding me as much as I guide it. It resists completion as if to test my patience, disclosing itself only as much as it withholds.
I have learned to listen to it, to its hesitation when it fears taking shape, to its resistance when it rejects boundaries, to its rhythm as it slides across the surface as though playing a music finer than my senses. I see it testing my ability to balance its presence and absence in everyone moment it is born, whispering its first alphabet in my hands. And each time, it tests my intuition in shaping its story across the expanse of visual time.
تأملات في اللون والحركة
اللون في سكونه غياب، لا يتجاوز كونه مادةً مؤجلة، بلا حياة ولا معنى. في عزلته الصناعية، في هيئته الخام، يبقى محايداً، بلا فعل. وما أن يلمسه الخيال، حتى يبدأ في الانعتاق، كمن يخرج من صمته ليجرب النطق للمرة الأولى.
يدي تنتشله من سباته، تمنحه مزاجاً ووجهاً، قلباً يخفق، وصوتاً يحتجّ أو يَصخَب. ومع كل حركة، يتقاطع مساره مع إرادتي؛ يعاندني حيناً ويطيعني حيناً، يقودني بقدر ما أحاول أن أقوده، يتمنّع عن الاكتمال كأنه يختبر صبري، ويكشف عن نفسه بقدْر ما يُوارب.
تعلّمت أن أصغي إليه، إلى تردّده حين يخشى التشكل، إلى مقاومته حين يرفض الحدود، إلى إيقاعه الخاص وهو ينزلق على السطح كما لو كان يَعزف موسيقى أدقُّ من حواسّي. أراه يختبرُ مقدرتي على التماهي مع الحضور والغياب حينما يولدُ ويهمس أبجديّته الأولى بين يديّ، وفي كل مرة يختبر حدسي في صياغة حكايته على امتداد الزمن البصريّ.
