As another year comes to a close, we pause to reflect on the experiences, challenges, and choices that shaped our lives. This meeting invites us to explore how Stoicism has influenced our responses to these moments—whether it served as a guiding philosophy to navigate difficulties or, perhaps, presented unexpected limitations. Together, we will discuss what we could have done differently, drawing on the Stoic practice of examining what lies within our control and what does not.Whether you’re well-versed in Stoic philosophy or have only just heard about it, this gathering is for everyone. Stoicism teaches us the value of shared wisdom, and no matter your level of familiarity, your insights and reflections are welcome.
By looking back, we aim to uncover practical lessons that can guide the year ahead. How can we take what we’ve learned and put it into action? Have we embodied Stoic virtues like courage, justice, and wisdom in our daily lives, or are there areas where we fell short?
Join us for an inclusive and supportive discussion where we explore how Stoic principles can help us grow in the year to come.
We will be meeting at the Portland Arms, at the music venue behind the pub.
