Dr Ann Buckley is a musicologist specialising in Medieval Studies, and a Research Associate of the Medieval History Research Centre, Trinity College Dublin. She will be speaking on the lyrics in the14th-century Red Book of Ossory, now on display in St. Canice’s Cathedral for the first time ever. The Red Book includes the texts of 60 songs in Latin associated with Bishop Richard Ledrede, who included instructions that his clergy were to sing these instead of ‘lewd’ songs associated with secular entertainment.After hours admission to the Red Book of Ossory exhibition included.
