Additional details about fundraiser:
The featured photo below "Born a Slave" was shot by Jim Wright in 1974 - of a then 118 year old grandma Naomi Gary and he considers the photograph one of the highlights of his career to have been able to take a picture of her and capture this moment. See powerful pictures such as this and many more at the Recollections exhibition at the ARt deCentrale Gallery from Dec 21 2024 to Feb7th 2025. A portion of the proceeds from all photograph sales will also go towards this fundraiser.
The Longest Day is the day with the most light — the summer solstice. On June 20, thousands of participants from across the world come together to fight the darkness of Alzheimer’s through a fundraising activity of their choice. We will be kicking our fight off on the shortest day during the winter s on Dec 21st to juxtapose the need to fight for the cause throughout the year! Will you join us in the fight with a donation today?
Alzheimer’s disease has touched so many lives, maybe even yours. But you can help. With your donation families can receive support on their Alzheimer’s journey, promising research can advance toward a future without Alzheimer’s and lives can — and will — be changed.
Your donation means so much, to myself and to all those affected by the disease. On behalf of nearly 7 million Americans living with Alzheimer’s, of whom Jim Wright is one, and over 11 million caregivers — thank you!
