About this Event

Rebuilding Postpartum Core Stability

After childbirth, your body changes significantly and rebuilding your core strength and stability postpartum is crucial for full recovery and long-term health.

In this workshop, Dr. Karah Charette, PT and pelvic floor specialist, will introduce you to the powerful principles of Dynamic Neuromuscular Stability (DNS), exploring the core not just as a set of muscles, but as a pressure-regulated canister essential to spinal health, pelvic support, and functional stability.

Understanding how to manage intra-abdominal pressure within this canister is key to heal postpartum, prevent back pain, improve posture, and improve diastasis rectus and prolapse.

Whether you're dealing with back pain, pelvic floor dysfunction, a weakened core, or postural imbalances from pregnancy and delivery, this workshop offers valuable insights and practical strategies to support your postpartum recovery.

By learning how to activate and coordinate your core properly, we can reduce strain on the spine, encourage decompression of the pelvic floor, and improve overall function—helping you gain more strength, ease, and comfort in your everyday movements and activities.

In this interactive workshop, you will:

  • Understand the core functions as a pressure-regulated canister to protect your spine and pelvis, and why this understanding is especially important postpartum.
  • Learn 3 key core principles to ensure that your core is working efficiently to support your body, alleviate pain, and improve posture.
  • Activate the core through developmental kinesiology and use reflexive movement patterns to restore core engagement, help re-align your body, and improve your stability (similar to the movements your baby will display!)
  • Integrate techniques into daily life movements, whether you’re picking up your baby, bending, or walking, to reduce discomfort and increase mobility.

This workshop is ideal for postpartum individuals looking to restore pelvic floor function, reduce back pain, and rebuild core strength with a safe, sustainable approach.

Whether you're a few weeks or many months or years postpartum, this workshop will provide the foundation for healing and reclaiming your body’s strength and stability. It is never too late to begin. Once postpartum, always postpartum!

This workshop is limited to a small group of participants. We highly encourage you to purchase your ticket in advance! (Please note that tickets cannot be refunded or transferred for any reason.)
