Fraud and Scams Affecting Real Estate Transactions

This course discusses the various techniques hackers, scammers and fraudsters use to steal real property and funds from unsuspecting parties to a real estate transaction. It addresses different scenarios realtors may find themselves in and provide common-sense solutions to avoid them. The worth of meeting the client in person, via Zoom or Skype along with the importance of getting a copy of the photo ID before spending hours only to find out the ID is fraudulent. Examples will be provided of how to look for discrepancies in driver’s license and passports and where the realtor can report any suspicious activities.

Taught by Tanna Thigpen
Social media is an absolute goldmine for the real estate industry. The importance of social media for the agent really cannot be overstated. This session looks at how social media has become an integral part to winning clients and closing deals.
