We have a very special tour coming up on Sunday (11/8) with our partners, Portland Explorer Tours.
We'll do the driving on this "dealer's choice" tour where we will "chase" previously discovered rarities, and/or find our own (like this state first Spotted Towhee I found in Nov 2023 at Fort Foster in Kittery). It's prime time for vagrants from all parts of the continent, and this week's southwesterly winds followed by a strong cold front is perfect for ushering in the unexpected (part of our time in the van will be spent explaining how and why!). Currently, there's a Townsend's Solitaire and a Ruff in the state. Will they stick around? Will we make a drive? What else will be turned up? You'll have to hop aboard to find out!
