As a carrion bird, the very intelligent turkey vulture plays a vital role in our ecosystem by preventing the spread of diseases in humans. preventing the spread of diseases in humans. Being able to see a turkey vulture up close is very special and many attendees leave the programs with a new respect for this often-misunderstood bird. These programs provide a true connection between the raptors and the audience.
The programs include a hands-on portion where biofacts are passed around allowing attendees to feel the wing of a great horned owl and the feet of an osprey, for example. Time is
incorporated in the programs to allow for questions that attendees may have. It is undeniable that raptors intrigue people and is quite amazing the questions people ask during and after each of the programs. The interactive and engaging birds of prey programs instill a better understanding and respect for raptors.
