Rainbow River is one of the most beautiful rivers in Florida. This paddle launches from Rainbow Springs State Park boat ramp, 5 miles down Rainbow River, past the confluence with the Withlacoochee River, ending at Centennial Park, for a total of just under 7 miles. I'll have a vehicle parked nearby to assist in any shuttling back to the Rainbow Springs State Park parking lot. As some of you may know, the city of Dunnellon has implemented parking and launch fees for their city boat ramps and lots. Parking is $5/day and launch fees are $10. Since this is with a 3rd party vendor, I am awaiting confirmation on whether or not we would be charged a fee just to exit the water at Centennial Park. However, for anyone interested, you'll need to port kayaks/paddleboards from the parking lot, into the park gate, and past the swim area to the free launch ramp, so inflatables/foldables would probably be the best gear, unless you have a kayak cart/wheels. As an other option, you are also welcome to simply join in as we pass KP Hole ($) as an easier launch option, just less than 2 miles down river from the springhead. Since this is downriver, it should be a nice controlled float and relaxing day on the water!!!
