A narrated Tri-Rail journey into South Florida's history on your way to the 2026 Africana Arts & Humanities Festival. Only 20 seats!
About this Event

Before we gather at the table, we must travel the path.

Before enjoying the sessions at the AARLCC, your learning starts on the tracks. Join Key2MIA for Rail-to-Roots: an exclusive, narrated transit experience into the 2026 Africana Arts & Humanities Festival.

This is a moving classroom. As you ride the Tri-Rail toward the festival, you'll receive a foundational narrative on how the pioneers of South Florida built the cities we move through today. By the time you arrive at the African American Research Library and Cultural Center (AARLCC), your journey will have set the stage for a day of immersive storytelling, cultural preservation, and the collective reclaiming of our place in the American narrative.

What Rail-to-Roots Includes:

  • A Physical Discounted Tri-Rail Ticket: Mailed directly to your door (valid only for your Saturday festival travel)
  • The Narrative Guide: Digital access to the "Rail-to-Roots" audio/visual storytelling to accompany your ride
  • Direct Connection: Shuttle service, courtesy of Circuit to and from the Fort Lauderdale Tri-Rail station to the Africana Arts & Humanities Festival

Note: There are only 20 seats available for this curated track. The $5 fee ensures your physical ticket is reserved and mailed.

You must provide a valid mailing address during checkout. Tickets will be sent via USPS the week of the festival. Because seats are strictly limited to 20 guests, the registration fee is non-refundable. Your commitment ensures this subsidized community resource is utilized by someone ready to ride.

250 years of history. One journey to the heart of the story.
