I’m coming away from 10 weeks in Europe: Relatefully flowing, being gay, and learning about love. I’m keeping the energy alive. I'm partnering this time with the local Relatefulness leaders in Oakland for a weekend of Flow and what I’m calling, “Radiance”.
Beauty and seeing beauty for too long have been relegated to an “opinion”. I’ve come to learn that Beauty is a form of Truth that collapses amidst litigation and is sidelined when seen as an opinion. We’re going to allow Beauty to be a truth in the room and weave this occurrence of Radiance into our practice of Relatefulness. So many things can be beautiful that I think we go numb, especially in a world that mostly honors things that justify themselves. Where the Radiance, an occurence of Beauty, arises, we will hold it as solid and worthful, as much as any other sensation, feeling, thought, or action.
We’re going to spend a Friday night and all day Saturday and Sunday building a culture of Relatefulness together. There will be one specific injunction: “If something strikes you as beautiful, you can choose to name it and it will be solid and stand on its own”. This was always true in Relatefulness but I’m highlighting it now. Truth and Love are our watchwords in this practice as we Flow and Focus and Beauty is what I’m calling for now. We will oscillate between challenge and nourishment through the weekend in order to both grow and support what we’re building. I love everything that has come before and now I’m calling for something new. In this changing world we need to be on the edge of good living.
In service of that I must note, this is NOT a safe space. This will always be a brave space. If there is care there it will be because we bring it. It will not be because it’s supposed to be there. We are the building blocks of what we’re building. I’ve just been to my first burn and Radical Self Reliance is a good compass for whether we should attend. Everyone is included and that inclusion will be most felt as we participate. Silence will count as participation. Gifts will be given but we will not make exchange wrong between us. We will be with the sobriety that sometimes gratitude is needed to make further motion toward what we’re building survivable.

I thank you already for the openness in reading this and, like Aya, implore you to come if you already felt implored to come before reading this. I trust you to know what’s right for you.
We’re excited to see you. It’s best if you’ve had some experience of Relatefulness or related practices and I recommend attending some Relateful Co sessions if you’re not sure what any of this means.
I will be the main lead with Joanna Bregan assisting.

PS: We’ll have a 90 minute lunch and breaks when we feel we need them. We're capping this immersion at 11 because it feels comfy and my self-worth is aligned with ease.
