Racing Data & Breaking Barriers
About this Event
Motorsport is one of the most technically demanding industries in the world. The margins are razor thin, the decisions happen in seconds, and the engineering behind it all rarely gets the attention it deserves.
On 25th August Tuesday evening, LinkedIn Local™ - Singapore brings you an evening with people who know this world from the inside.
Panellist: Nida Anis
Freelance Data & Motorsport Engineer
Attachment Engineer, Mercedes-AMG HPP
Nida Anis is a freelance data and motorsport engineer with hands-on experience across GB4, Formula Regional Middle East, Formula 4, and GT World Challenge Asia. She reads live telemetry and supports race strategy in real time, at race speeds. She also co-founded Asian Motorsport, a news platform dedicated to telling the stories of Asian drivers and teams competing overseas that rarely make mainstream coverage.
Panellist: Dr Kimberly Kellyanne Tan
Combustion Performance Engineer - CFD Computational Fluid Dynamics, formerly with Mercedes-AMG HPP
Dr Kimberly Kellyanne Tan, a recent PhD graduate from Nanyang Technological University, is a combustion performance engineer, specialising in multiphase flows and droplet dynamics. Dr Kimberly uses Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to improve thermal efficiency in combustion and manufacturing. She often opined on how deeply scientific research can be applied to solve real engineering problems.
Moderator: John Dykes
Global Sports Broadcaster & Presenter
John Dykes is one of Asia's most recognised sports broadcasters. He hosted the official Formula 1 preshow Raceday, and anchored the F1 2025 evening at Marina Bay Sands Singapore. He brings the questions your audience wants answered, and the experience to draw out the stories worth hearing.
What to expect on the evening:
This event is one of Nida last stops in Singapore before she heads to the UK to begin a Year in Industry placement with Mercedes-AMG HPP, the team that builds the power units for the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team, as part of her engineering degree at Oxford Brookes University.
A candid conversation about what it actually takes to build a career in motorsport engineering. From the classroom to the pit wall, and from Southeast Asia to the top tier of Formula racing.
Who should attend:
- Engineering students and early career professionals curious about motorsport
- Professionals considering a career transition into sport or engineering
- Anyone who wants to understand how data, strategy, and engineering come together at the highest level of motorsport
