Rachel has been competing since she was a child and has been in dog sports for a decade. With focus on science based training methods and a background in behavior, she brings unique skillset to the world of agility training. Her focus on conceptual-based training, reinforcement mechanisms, and clarity in communication with the dog allows Rachel to address everything from complex training issues to the dynamic between a handler and dog running elite level courses. Successful with a variety of breeds of dogs, Rachel has a decade of medals at regional, cup, classic and national events.
The Perfect 3 - Front, Blind and Rear Cross Perfection
Handling seminar geared toward perfecting the basic three crosses. Great for both novice AND very experienced teams. This seminar breaks down what "you're late!" really means, and what "on time" really looks like.

Master/International Handling
In these International Handling workshops, you will have an opportunity to practice the skills needed to successfully complete these fun and fast courses, often seen in the AKC ISC classes or the Master Series, Biathlon, and Pentathlon classes in UKI. Skill building and training techniques will be provided as part of this curriculum. Workshops will last 3 hours each session.
Different international handling challenges will be presented in each session. Topics include: Discriminations, Layering, S%#! in the Way, S lines, Weave Entry’s and Exits, Distance Handling, Threadle Slices, Threadle Wraps, and more!

Fluency and the 3 Ds : Distance, Duration and Distraction in Agility
So often our dogs can perform a behavior in one context but not in another. They can be “fluent” in a behavior under certain conditions, but not other others or with additional stimulus. How do we isolate and train for these factors? That’s what the Three D’s are all about!
Distance: Learn the three elements of distance and how to address each of them individually.
Duration: Learn how to slice down position-based behaviors to truly teach your dog through success.
Distraction: Handler motion, verbal cues, environmental changes, presentation of reinforcement – there are so many things that can distract our dogs! Learn how to help your dog maintain behaviors despite changes in conditions.

The lecture is open to anyone. It is required for anyone participating in the 3Ds working session Saturday morning.

Working: 2pm - 7pm
Participants in this workshop must have attended the lecture from Friday evening. No exceptions. See above for description of the seminar content. Dogs ages 6 months and up are welcome. Dogs should be able to stay engaged with the handler off leash. Short stay and short lead-out are recommended. Ability to wrap a cone/wing and do a tunnel are recommended. Highly encouraged to bring and use Treat N Train (trained). This seminar is highly adjustable to individual dog’s skill levels.
