🎄 Holiday Rag Quilt Class
Come spend a cozy day sewing with us before the holiday rush!
In this beginner-friendly Sewcial Studio class, we'll make an adorable Holiday Rag Quilt that's perfect for snuggling on the couch, holiday decorating, or giving as a handmade gift.
Our finished quilt measures approximately 33" × 41" after washing and is made from soft flannel with exposed seams that get wonderfully fluffy and cozy after washing.
We'll walk you through the entire process, including preparing your blocks, quilting the layers, assembling the quilt with exposed seams, clipping the seam allowances, and finishing your quilt so it's ready for its first wash. While we hope you go home with a completed quilt, ready to wash, most people will have to finish up at home!
Newer sewist? This is a great class for you! Rag quilts are wonderfully forgiving—there are no complicated blocks or perfect points required.
Option One:
Class Fee: $35
Skill Level: Beginner Friendly
Fabric is not included. We will begin the class with cutting your fabric for the pattern.
Option Two:
Class Fee: $85
Skill Level: Beginner Friendly
Fabric is included. It will be cut and ready to sew when you arrive. Kits are precut, but you can choose your kit, based on availability.
What you'll need
-7 half-yard cuts of flannel (42"–44" usable width) - for those bringing their own flannel
-Sewing machine in good working order
-Coordinating thread
-Several wound bobbins
- Marking tool
- Rotary cutter
-Scissors
-Pins or clips
-Sharp rag-quilt snips or spring-action scissors
-Basic sewing supplies
Cutting mats, rulers and other classroom equipment will be available at Sewcial Studio.
Your registration includes: small-group instruction, use of classroom equipment, and a printed Holiday Rag Quilt pattern to take home. Feel free to bring snacks or drinks, or you can order in at your expense through a delivery service.
