Quilt Challenge Exhibit at the DCCA
About this Event
Black & White Plus One Special Quilt Exhibit
Join us as we ramp up for the Wisconsin Arts & Peony Festival with a special Black & White Plus One Quilt Exhibit, presented by The Great Wisconsin Quilt Show in partnership with The Dodge County Center for the Arts and the Nancy Zieman Sewing Studio.
This unique exhibit challenged quilt artisans to create stunning works using only black and white fabrics, accented with just one additional color. The result is a remarkable collection of creativity, contrast, and craftsmanship where every quilt tells its own story through texture, pattern, and carefully chosen color.
From bold geometric designs to intricate traditional patterns, visitors will experience how limitation can spark extraordinary artistic expression. Each of the 63+ quilts transform simple materials into visual poetry, proving that sometimes creativity shines brightest with just a few carefully chosen threads.
Every quilt is accompanied by an artist’s statement detailing the thought process, color selection and process to create these stunning works of art.
Whether you’re a lover of art, history, design, or the timeless craft of quilting, this immersive exhibit is an experience not to be missed. Step into a gallery filled with imagination, precision, and a kaleidoscope of black, white, and one unforgettable splash of color.
Exhibit Runs: May 14th through June 20th
Gallery Hours: Wednesday through Sunday | 11 AM – 5 PM
