Quiet Pages, Loud Legacy: A Juneteenth Eve Reading Experience
About this Event
This event is sponsored and organized by Nadia Anderson in collaboration with Melanin & Manuscripts Book Club.
The evening will feature plenty of room to spread out and dive deep into the pages of your current read. We'll have refreshing lavender lemonade and fruit infused water to quench your thirst and cool down from from the heat.
See you at 7pm with your book, a blanket, or yoga mat.
Join us at 6pm if you choose to add-on dinner to enhance the experience and gather in community before you read.
Chef Charles with Black Folk Food is preparing a delicious summer menu for your enjoyment:
Black Bruschetta
Charred French baguette, fresh tomato, fig balsamic finish. Smoky, balanced.
Blackened Shrimp Salad
Poblano crema, charred corn, fresh herbs. Smooth with a quiet heat.
Grilled Chicken & Watermelon Salad
Watermelon, spring greens, cucumber, red onion, feta, herbs. Sweet, salty, clean.
Black Gold BBQ’d Salmon
Glazed salmon, sweet smoke, zesty finish.
Red Skin’d Potato Salad
Creamy red skin potatoes, light tang, cracked pepper finish.
Maple Soy Glazed Green Beans
Charred green beans, sweet soy glaze, crispy shallots.
