About this Event
Join us at Kami's Craft Corner for a Cardboard Loom Hand-weaving Skillshare! This in-person event will take place at 915 Spring Garden St @ Studio #404. Whether you're a seasoned crafter or just starting out, come connect with fellow artists and learn a new skill. There are limited looms available, so be sure to reserve your spot! Community guest artist Olive will be sharing their skills with us for this session. Get hands-on experience with hand-weaving techniques using a cardboard loom. If you'd like to sit, chill, or work on your project instead of learning handwaving, that is still welcome! This is the same as our other circles, aside from some attendees learning hand-weaving. Don't miss this opportunity to create something beautiful and bond with the community!
About Olive:
Olive (they/them), aka Dumpster Fantasy, is a white, trans, disabled mixed-media artist & organizer based in South Philly. They have a passion for sharing skills & resources, using garbage, and making crafts accessible to all. They are a beginner at weaving but looking forward to sharing the basics to get people started!
Queer Fiber Arts Skill Share and Craft Circle
✨ Come craft, connect, and create in a space built for us! ✨
This gathering is for queer, trans, BIPOC, and neurodivergent folks, weirdos, freaks, artists, and anyone who has historically been excluded from the arts. Whether you're a seasoned fiber artist or just picking up a hook for the first time, you are welcome here!
Join us for a magical evening of fiber arts and community care at Three Hearts 404 Community Oasis at the 915. A limited supply of crochet hooks and yarn will be available for those who want to practice, but feel free to bring any dry or fiber arts project—knitting, embroidery, weaving, mending, whatever calls to you!
💖 $5-15 suggested donation for materials (no one turned away for lack of funds), this helps me provide yarn, hooks, scissors, refreshments, and my time and labor so we can continue having this space!

About the Space:
This event is part of a larger vision for an ongoing community/third space—a sanctuary for queer, trans, BIPOC, and neurodivergent folks, as well as artists, weirdos, and freaks of all kinds. Here, we center those who have historically been excluded from the arts, offering a low-sensory, intergenerational environment to read, co-work, have meetings, organize, share resources, and, of course, craft.
This is a shoes-off space. You’re welcome to lay on the floor, stretch, stim (quietly), or just vibe. There’s no pressure to produce anything—just come as you are and be in community.
FYI: The space is across from a shooting range, and such sounds can be heard intermittently. Please consider this if that is something triggering for you.
Accessibility:
- Wheelchair-accessible entrance located at the north end of the building (no steps).
- Elevator available for access to different floors.
- Masks are required when not eating or drinking.
If you have specific accessibility needs or questions, feel free to reach out in advance!
About the Host:
I’m Kami (they/them), a Black, queer, non-binary, disabled, multidisciplinary artist and community organizer. My work is rooted in accessibility, mutual aid, and creating spaces where art is a tool for connection and empowerment. This space is for us—to learn, create, and exist together in ways that feel good. Find me on Instagram @kamixology to follow my work!
🧶 Come for the fiber arts, stay for the community. We can’t wait to craft with you! 🧵✨
