Queer Family Social at Allen's Community Garden
About this Event
Come down to Allen's Community Garden to meet other queer families and their friends outdoors in nature. There'll be a harvest available to share, foraging and nature crafting to get involved in and lots of creepy crawlies to discover. Feel free to bring games to share.
Directions:
Allens Community Garden is situated inside Allen's Gardens park in Stoke Newington. The postcode is N16 5BD. The entrance to the park is on Bethune road, near Manor road, and the garden is on the right when you enter the park through a wooden door, which will be clearly marked. Do make sure you don't go to the Allens Gardens in Shoreditch!

Access:
We won't provide food but feel free to bring anything that works best for your families. There is drinking water on site.
The garden has no steps but is uneven and can be slippery in wet weather. The toilet is accessible by a ramp that has unfortunately broken, so includes a slope upwards and downwards. The main paths are wheelchair accessible but the spaces between beds can be too narrow at points for a wheelchair to pass.
We have some accessible tools and knee pads, but not all the tools we'd like. We can provide waterproofs and warmer clothes if needed. The site has running water. There will be a table with seats with backs, and there is a bench with a back. We can offer pillows for seating. There is no changing table but there is indoor space you are welcome to use.
There is an unfenced pond, so small children need supervision. We hope to change this soon.
The garden is stewarded by primarily neurodivergent people, and we will do our best to accommodate any sensory needs.
We love dogs, but if you want to bring a dog, please let us know in advance and keep them on a lead.
