About this Event

The Queer Birders Club is for queer birders of all abilities and experience levels. Whether you're a seasoned pro or this is your very first time birding, this is a safe space to be yourself, have fun, and get curious about birds with other nature-loving queer folks! Walks are always facilitated by experienced queer naturalist and birder Kate Brown, who has over a decade of experience running birding and nature connection programs for folks of all ages. During spring and summer our events are more based in and around Bellingham, and in autumn and winter we spend more time in Skagit county to appreciate the incredible winter ducks, geese and swans who flock to the area during the coldest months. Bring your binoculars, coffee, a donut, and anything you need to stay comfortable for the duration of our time outside.

Where to Find Us: In november we will be meeting at Fir Island Farm Reserve (Skagit Wildlife Area) located at 15802 Fir Island Rd, Mount Vernon, WA 98273.

The Queer Birders Club typically meets from 10-11:30am on the last Sunday of every month (with some exceptions for availability and holidays. If you happen to have any spare binoculars that you no longer use, we are always accepting bino donations to lend out during our programs!
