Join the Halifax Queer Ensemble for a day of music workshops, zine making, and music-making for adults, lead by our musical directors, guest clinicians, and ensemble members. Queer Band Camp takes place on Saturday, 11 July 2026 from 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM at The Fountain School of Peforming Arts (1385 Seymour Street) at the Dalhousie Arts Centre. Join us for a day, or drop in for a jam session or workshop. Snacks and lunch will be provided. All adult-aged musicians, instruments, and music-curious people are welcome, and no prior musical training is necessary!

The Halifax Queer Ensemble is a community of 2SLGBTQ+ musicians of all skill levels, instruments, and backgrounds. We are passionate about supporting queer composers and artists, sharing skills, and having fun with concert music.
Guided by queer and trans conductors, we strive to create a safe and open environment for queer sound while deconstructing the colonial and heteropatriarchal norms that have shaped traditional musical teaching, value, and performance.
