About this Event
We’re bringing something new this year!
A Pro/Am TEAM class where each of our Pro Women gets paired with a Lightweight or Masters thrower (Any class that throws the 21lb HWD/WOB).
The top 8 ranked LW/Masters registrations go into a Friday night live drawing at Back Pew to see which Masters/Lightweight women get to throw alongside the pros, and what pro they team up with 👑⚔️
I’ll pull everyone’s numbers from May 2025 up to a week before Queens from the different ranking sites, so you’ll have until then to improve your numbers.
This one is special to me since I’m both a Masters and a Lightweight, and I wanted to create something fun and different just for these classes.
Pros if you're intrested in coming shoot me an email ([email protected] ) and I'll send over what we're offering our pros this year. It being our first year running a pro class we are only inviting 3-5 pros.
Athlete check-in starts at 8am, and we’ll start throwing at 9am. We’ll have food trucks on site and, of course, beer. No outside alcohol at all — ZERO. Please support Back Pew for all your adult-beverage needs.
FIRST-TIME THROWERS:
If you’ve never competed in a Highland Games before, you can sign up for the Novice class, no matter your age or weight.
Women’s Lightweights must weigh in at 155 lbs or under.
Masters, If you’re 40+, please register in the appropriate Masters age group.
THE HIGHLANDER CLASS
We need at least 6 women to register for the Highlander class. If we don’t reach that number, you’ll be placed in the regular Heavy Athletics division (A,B, LW, Masters).
If we get at least 4 athletes at 155 and under and 4 athletes over 155, we can split it into two classes and use appropriate weights for each group
Open Stone
Heavy Weight For Distance
Light Hammer

Weight Over Bar
Max Wagon Wheel Deadlift, with a deadlift bar, straps, no suits. Athletes will have three attempts to lift as much weight as possible on a power bar/standard height wagon wheels. To receive a down command and a good lift, the athlete must stand tall with hips and knees fully locked out, then lower the bar to the floor under control. Dropping the bar from the top will result in a “No Lift.” Athletes have 30 seconds to complete each attempt; if the time expires and the bar hasn’t started moving, that attempt will be scratched.
Head to Head Keg Carry - Weight TBD
Overhead Press Medley (Keg, natural stone, Axle) Weights TBD
All classes need at least 4 registrations to be considered an official class.
