About the Childhood Trauma Initiative:
Over the last three years, community advocates have had convenings to talk through system level changes to continue to prevent and address childhood trauma in Winnebago County. Through community conversations and utilizing data from the Winnebago County Overdose Fatality Review, Attendance Matters Campaign through the Oshkosh Area School District, Winnebago County Community Health Assessment and the Community Health Improvement Plan, the Winnebago County Childhood Trauma Task force has created six recommendations. These recommendations, now committees, are focused on changing systems to support elementary school students and their families in getting their basic needs met. In this session, you will learn the history of how the Childhood Trauma task force came to be, more about each of the committees and how you and the rest of our community can continue to be involved.
Committees/ priority recommendations of Childhood Trauma:
Overarching lens of Addressing Systemic Barriers
Before & after school care
