National Fox Day is a day to celebrate the fox, an adaptable and elusive animal that plays an important role in the environment. Foxes are known for their cunning and are masters of adaptation. They are also beneficial to humans because they help control vermin populations and clean up litter. Red foxes are the most widespread carnivores on Earth, found in a variety of habitats across the globe. They’re true survivors, able to quickly adapt to new environments, including those impacted by human presence. Their diet is equally adaptable, consisting of small rodents, birds, eggs, amphibians, and fruit. In urban settings, they’re even known to scavenge from bins!We are excited to celebrate our fabulous fox trio, Mellie, Joey and Apollo. We will have fun activities throughout the day including; a scavenger hunt, crafts, keeper chats and much more!
