PVTV Fringe Flicks: The Girl with the Haunted Vagina + shorts

Fringe Flicks returns with Uncanny Desires, a curated night of bold, funny, and unsettling short films exploring desire, repression, transformation, and the strange urges we try to keep hidden.

Expect dark humour, surreal turns, and moments of uncomfortable intimacy.

Headlining the night is The Girl with the Haunted Vagina, a sharp, darkly comic short by Samantha O’Rourke and Rachel Tookey that tackles sexual repression with wit, discomfort, and unapologetic weirdness. It’s the perfect centrepiece for a programme about bodies, longing, and things that refuse to stay buried.

Alongside the headline film, the programme features a selection of international short films curated around the theme of Uncanny Desires, balancing comedy, horror, and emotional punch. The full lineup brings together work from around the world, united by a fascination with intimacy, power, and transformation.

The night will also premiere a brand-new short created by participants in our Creative Meet-Ups programme, a collaborative, community-built project developed here in Liverpool.

Fringe Flicks is a volunteer-led, community-run film night held in small local venues. Tickets are pay what you can, and no one is turned away for lack of funds.
