Purple Pantry Presents: I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings
Inspired by Dr. Maya Angelou’s I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, this immersive, multi-sensory experience takes guests through the journey from surviving to thriving.
Through The Cage, The Silence, The Song, The Flight, and The Sky, guests will experience stories of vulnerability, abuse, finding your voice, healing, resilience, and what becomes possible on the other side.
Throughout the evening, experience visual art, survivor-centered storytelling, spoken word, music by DJ Walter Smoothflicks, a live performance by violinist Sergio Paul, cocktails, food, and desserts as each floor brings another part of the journey to life.
Founded by Chef Jen Heasley, a domestic violence survivor, educator, and advocate, The Purple Pantry helps survivors reclaim the kitchen as a place of nourishment, confidence, connection, and new beginnings.
Join us for an evening of real stories, healing, hope, restoration, community, and celebration, while helping support survivors as they rebuild their lives, one meal and one new memory at a time.
