English Ivy removal Work parties for "Pulling To Gather"- Art Action Earwig (AAE)'s eco-art project co produced by Nanaimo Forest School Cooperative.For whom: Everyone! Especially those who are passionate/ curious about ecological restoration and arts in Nanaimo.
Where: Meet at Amphitheatre near Duck Pond at Bowen Park

What: Removing English Ivy.
Why: English Ivy was introduced to Nanaimo decades ago, and has since grown into Bowen Park and taken over much of the forest floor, choking out all the other plants, including many native ones crucial for a wholesome ecology. We are taking group action to remove ivy and make it available for creative art activities that you can join, and many local artists are working on.
A celebration will occur for Earth Day highlighting all your volunteer efforts and the art that was created from it.
What to wear: comfy and weather-suitable shoes and clothing for the outdoor pulling activity
Work tools including gloves and garden pitch forks will be provided.
Water and snacks will also be provided.
What to bring: Your water bottle/cup/container
