About this Event
Do you want to make a positive impact on your local watershed and improve salmonid habitat? Join the Watershed Stewards Program and the County of Humboldt on Saturday, March 21st, 10 am-2 pm, for a day of hands-on restoration activities.
Volunteers will help remove invasive plant species, install native willow stakes, and clean up litter along Freshwater Creek. Freshwater Creek provides vital habitat for federally endangered and protected salmonid species, including Coho, Steelhead, Coastal Cutthroat, and even the occasional Chinook. This project is designed to both improve habitat conditions for salmonids and strengthen community connections.
Please bring long sleeves, closed-toe shoes, a water bottle, and lunch. Extra water, gloves, tools, snacks, and light refreshments will be provided!
Volunteers will meet at the Freshwater County Park at 10 am. Free parking is available to volunteers. Carpooling is strongly recommended. RSVP by clicking "Reserve a spot." See you there!
