--------------------------------------------
Puffin is a four-piece modern rock band from Halifax, Nova Scotia. The quartet’s writing style highlights their appreciation for the energetic nature of modern punk rock, evenly with the rhythmically-intricate nature of math rock, while tying in the melodic and harmonic elements of post-hardcore. The result? An unforgettably energetic live show that combines heavy riffs, soaring melodies, and complex rhythms with lyrical themes of introspection, vulnerability, and interpersonal conflict. Puffin proves that even the hardest-hitting breakdowns and chaotic walls of sound carry an emotional weight, turning every show into a simultaneous no-holds-barred battlefield and a chorus-belting shoutalong.
idialedyournumber is the solo project of Halifax-based artist Jessie Everill, blending emo, chiptune, & indie rock into a sound she calls "bit-pop emo". Everill weaves personal, emotionally honest lyrics with synth-heavy, glitchy instrumentation. The project is grounded in DIY ethics, carries a deep emotional honesty, and now expands live into a five-piece band, having played New Friends Fest, and performed in Canada, the U.S, and Europe.
Headbanging, foot-stomping guitar rock delivered with intensity and exuberance; Dad Patrol’s unique sound is playful and cohesive with lyrics that share vulnerability through Dobson’s (lead vocals) charming growl. "Pleaser", Dad Patrol’s ECMA-nominated second album is gritty and smooth, telling stories of loneliness and isolation with complex emotion and sound.
Mat Elliott is a Halifax indie-soul songwriter and producer whose new wave of yacht-rock music blends smooth vocals, groove-driven production, and retro textures with a modern edge. Following his 2024 debut EP South Endings, which earned two East Coast Music Award nominations and won Music Nova Scotia’s New Artist Recording of the Year, he continues to expand his sound and creative vision, opening the door to the larger universe of his upcoming full-length record.
