Public Workshop: Pop up (speculative) sculpture trail

A celebration of work made with Basildon families this half term event will showcase glow in dark sculptures and an immersive projection tunnel of collages. Hosted by Care Contractors and artists Shaun C. Badham and Emma Edmondson for this event will light up East Square with a mini pop up sculpture trail, created by Basildon families and inspired by Wendy Taylor’s animal underpass. The artists will also transform a Basildon underpass into an immersive artwork experience featuring collages made by local families.

The event will start at Wendy Taylor’s underpass and then we will walk to Basildon high street to explore the pop up glow in dark sculptures. This free family event is inspired by Basildon’s rich history of public art and how we might interact and respond to it today - looking to the past to create a new future of public art!

Suitable for young people, families and anyone interested in Basildon’s heritage and public art. UV torches provided!

Starts at Southernhay and Roundacre underpass, leading onto Basildon High Street and East Square, finishing with a screening at the Vue cinema.
