About this Event
For this hybrid event, there are two ways to attend -- in-person at Stanford and virtually. This is the REGISTRATION WEBPAGE for IN-PERSON ATTENDANCE!
Stanford's Movement Disorders Center and Brain Support Network are co-hosting this PSP/CBD symposium. (PSP = progressive supranuclear palsy. CBD = corticobasal degeneration. We use the term "CBD" to include corticobasal syndrome.) Those with a diagnosis of PSP or CBD, caregivers, family members, and anyone in the community are welcome to join us.
In-person attendance at Stanford is limited to 100 people. Register today to ensure your spot! The registration deadline for in-person attendance is Thursday, June 27, at noon PT. (We need time to order adequate lunches.)
Note: The day before the event, all registrants to the in-person event will receive a link to join the symposium online. (We know that "stuff" happens.)
If you prefer to attend online, see the registration link below!
PROGRAM
Morning speakers include:
Sharon Sha, MD, Stanford, on cognitive symptoms.
Cameron Dietiker, MD, UCSF, on movement symptoms.
Jocelyn Jiao, MD, Stanford, on neuro-palliative care.
After the lunch break, we'll feature a panel of those with a diagnosis and caregivers coping with PSP or CBD. Many panelists are part of the local Northern/Central California Brain Support Network PSP/CBD support groups.
Afternoon speakers include:
Robin Riddle, Brain Support Network, on brain donation to support PSP/CBD research.
Finally, we'll hear from Stevy Shadwick, SLP, Kaiser, Alexander Dien, DPT, and Lucy Lotz, DPT, UCSF, about speech therapy and physical therapy to treat PSP and CBD.
RESOURCE TABLES
Before the speakers begin and during the lunch break and an afternoon break, visit exhibitor tables.
There will also be information tables for Stanford Neurology, Brain Support Network, and CurePSP, the event sponsor. Stanford research staff will be on-hand to tell you about PSP and CBD-related studies underway.
TICKETS
Space is limited.
Tickets for in-person attendance are $35/each. This includes a healthy lunch. Parking is free.
If you are able, please purchase a ticket for $70 -- a single ticket for you and sponsorship for one person unable to afford a ticket.
If you are able to sponsor more than one person, please make a charitable contribution directly to Brain Support Network (brainsupportnetwork.org) and tell us your wishes.
If you have a financial need and cannot afford a ticket, please email the conference organizers ([email protected]) to request a scholarship ticket!
Register today to ensure your spot! The deadline for in-person attendance is Thursday, June 27, at noon so that we have time to order adequate lunches.
DETAILS
This event runs from 10am to 3pm PT. Doors open at 9:30am. Coffee, water, and snacks are available during registration. Lunch is provided and can be enjoyed outside. (Sunny and shady spots available.)
Parking (including accessible parking) at Stanford's Center for Academic Medicine is free and plentiful. We highly encourage parking in the garage beneath the building. There are also surface lots adjacent to the building. From adjacent lots, walk/wheel about a block to the meeting room. From the parking garage (beneath the building), take an elevator to the meeting room level.
As with any in-person event these days, masks are encouraged but not required. (There are lots of covid outbreaks at care facilities as of early June.)
Afterwards, visit the historic Stanford Cactus Garden -- a short walk/wheel along a gravel path from the Center for Academic Medicine. Or drive to the nearby Cantor Arts Center.
THANK YOU!
We thank our event sponsor, CurePSP. And thank you to everyone who purchases a "scholarship" ticket so that we may offer attendance to those with a financial need.
RESOURCES and RECORDING
Within a few weeks of the event, we will email everyone who registered a list of resources from Stanford Neurology, Brain Support Network, and CurePSP.
The symposium will be recorded. We will also share a link to the recording with EVERYONE who registered (whether you attended or not).
