PSLE English Oral SBC Workshop - 9 June 2026

• Dissect and anticipate questions logically
• Describe emotions and actions effectively from static photographs
• Step-by-step guide to make full use of the stimulus
• Master the strategy and structure of an SBC answer
• Explore key themes and topics commonly tested in the SBC

This is a highly hands-on, small group workshop (maximum of 10 students) designed to help children approach the Stimulus-Based Conversation (SBC) as a communication skill.

The aim is to empower them to speak with confidence and fluency, while building techniques that feel natural and authentic.Through a ground-up approach developed from extensive coaching experience, the workshop tackles the very challenges students often face.

By breaking down each question, students gain awareness of the logic and structure behind strong responses. Step-by-step guides provide a systematic method to use details from the stimulus and translate static pictures into words.Most importantly, the workshop encourages students to draw on their own experiences. By making their answers personal, familiar, and comfortable, we create the scaffolding they need to express their ideas clearly and confidently.

This workshop will be run by Discovering Potential's founder, Hwang Siew Ling, who has extensive experience training students in PSLE Oral skills. Siew Ling is an Interview and Communication Coach, and she is the author of the PSLE Oral SBC Guidebook (2nd edition will be available in November 2025). Primary 5 and Primary 6 students (Primary 4 students are welcomed)

• 9 June 2026, Tuesday, 9 am to 1 pm
• Venue: In Person at 190 Clemenceau Avenue, Singapore Shopping Center (close to Dhoby Ghaut MRT)

• Reference slides will be provided
• Every participant will receive a copy of the PSLE Oral SBC Guidebook (2nd edition) (to be released in Nov 2025), which retails for $39.90 each.

Info: Feel as if there is nothing to say about the picture, not sure if you can say that you have never done what the stimulus shows, unable to think of experiences? All these on the ground, real challenges will be discussed. Learn tips on how to address them.

Info: Using a carefully selected range of different photo stimulus, put all the theory learnt into practice. Different pictures will present a different challenge, exposing you to more useful techniques. This is an important segment involving hands on practice, discussions, feedback and coaching.
