About this Event
Provan Hall dates from the 1470s and is the best example of a medieval fortified house in Scotland. Journey through 500 years of history at Glasgow's oldest house.
Your tour guide will take you through the house and gardens where you will discover tales of nobles; witches; Titanic survivors; bishops; and what makes the building so special.
Dates and times
- Sunday 17th November 2pm
- Saturday 30th November 12.30pm
Tours are free and last approximately 40 minutes.
Donations welcome.
When the tour has finished you are more than welcome to explore Provan Hall at your own pace!
Due to the age of the building, doorways can be narrow and measure from 720mm width. Doorways can also be small in height so please mind your head when passing through.
All floor spaces are uneven so please do use handrails where required.
Provan Hall is situated in the heart of Easterhouse, a stone’s throw away from Glasgow Fort and Auchinlea Park- a very unique location for a medieval house.
Free parking is available in Auchinlea Park car park, right next to Provan Hall. If taking public transport, we recommend the x19 Firstbus which leaves Glasgow city centre regularly and stops at Glasgow Fort.
Our general opening hours at 10am - 4pm Thursdays to Sundays.
Provan Hall Community Management Trust is a local charity responsible for operating and managing this historic gem. You can support us by donating, purchasing an item from our gift shop, purchasing a tea/coffee from our gift shop, attending one of fundraising events, volunteering or booking your next event at Provan Hall.
