About this Event
Have you ever wondered what makes a job a profession and a worker a professional? This session will examine how one’s attitudes and actions contribute to the overall quality of the workplace environment. Professionalism as a practice helps individuals choose which actions to perform, based partly on the values that they embrace as well as the expectations of the job, its stresses and supports. The focus of professionalism is the development of the competencies required of administrators and caregivers in order to act ethically. This workshop will explore major keys of professionalism and steps to guiding professional behavior, discussion of scenarios (life situations), sharing of ideas and experiences. After the session, participants should be able to define professionalism, list factors to contribute to professionalism, and reflect upon their own professional behavior.
