Private Screening - People of the West at Palomar College, Hosted by NSPIRE
About this Event
Private Screening - People of the West: The Indigenous History of California
Join us for an exclusive in-person screening at Palomar College! This special event is proudly hosted by the Native Student Support Program for Inclusion, Resilience, and Education (NSPIRE) and the American Indian Studies Department.
Come together with students, Tribal community members, and the college community for the finale episode, "The Next Generation," of the powerful People of the West: The Indigenous History of California series. As the series concludes, we invite participants to reflect on how stories, knowledge, and lessons from the past can inspire action in the present and help shape the future.
Following the screening, students from the NSPIRE Program will lead a community conversation and Q&A focused on the themes raised in the episode, encouraging participants to explore how awareness can become meaningful action. Attendees will also have an opportunity to share reflections, connect with others, and identify ways to continue learning and engaging beyond the event.
We invite you to join us in celebrating Native American Heritage Month and honoring the voices, resilience, leadership, and future generations of California Native peoples through an evening that moves us from story to action. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.
