Private Garden Opening in aid of Lingen Davies Oncology Unit

Grooms Cottage Garden are opening their Award Winning Garden to help Emily raise £5000 to support a cold cap machine for people receiving chemotherapy at Lingen Davies Oncology Unit.
Emily's Story
Me and mum are aiming to raise £5,000 to start the fundraising towards a new cold cap machine for the Lingen Davies Oncology unit at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.
Cold cap machines reduce chemotherapy-induced hair loss by lowering scalp temperature, protecting hair follicles from damage.
Since 2023 Mum has had 20 cold cap sessions which have been really successful. Her motivation for limiting her hair loss was mainly to keep up her appearance for her 4 small grandchildren.
Recently all the cold caps were in use and so she received chemotherapy without. Following this she experienced substantial hair loss after just one session proving it works for her. She is now on a mission with family and friends to ensure the Lingen Davies unit has a least one more cold cap machine to support the growing use of this therapy.
Due to the cost of the machines we will be organising a number of different events over the year to try to raise the required money.

Finalist in Gardeners World "Best of the Best 2016-2026"
A cottage garden divided in to "Garden Rooms" including a productive vegetable garden. Using upcycled materials and creative ideas throughout.
