We are very pleased to be able to offer you a one-day print workshop with Lou Tonkin.
Lou is a well known Cornish printmaker who specialises in nature-inspired prints. In this workshop our intention is to design our very own festive cards inspired by this beautiful local landscape.
Jan Trefusis will start our day with a short tour of the gardens at Trefusis (if the weather is favourable), to collect found natural objects, which might inspire. Then, after warming up with tea and coffee, we will join Lou in the heart of Trefusis House at the kitchen table for our workshop.
We will spend the day together as a group, a community, working with sketches from the gardens and favourite found objects to create individual lino cut designs.
We will also be treated to a hearty and wholesome lunch cooked by our friend Stuart Woodman who is a brilliant chef and forager, and after lunch (accompanied by a chocolate brownie and more teas and coffees) with the help of her old book press, Lou will guide you to hopefully hand print at least five cards that you will be able to take home with you.
Please feel free to bring your own piece of nature or favourite found object.
Please wear old clothing or overalls.
