Pride Month Forum - Living Into Being An Inclusive Church

As part of our Pride Month celebration and time of learning, we are excited to welcome Rev. Leika Lewis (they/she) to community for a learning forum! We will explore how to lean into our commitment to be an inclusive and affirming congregation in our current context and in today's social and political landscape. How can we grow in our welcoming journey using creativity, relationship building, authentic connections, and deep love across racial and ethnic, denominational, and economic divides? It IS possible to build and be beloved community together.
Rev. Leika is a UU chaplain/community-based minister, poet, and activist. Their ministry brings movement chaplaincy, embodied ritual, and contemplative practice to people and groups who have experienced religious trauma. They also minister through advocacy to continue a decades-long career in organizational strategy and policy.
Rev. Leika received their MDiv from Chicago Theological Seminary in April 2024. A native of the DC area, Leika has spent the past 20 years working with churches, non-profits, and large organizations to transform conflict and build inclusive culture.
