Pride Hīkoi - Whanganui Pride Week 2026
Join us as we come out in all our colours and take to the streets together for the Pride Hīkoi — a visible, joyful and powerful celebration of our rainbow communities and the people who stand alongside us.
Pride has always been about visibility. It is about showing up, taking up space, being seen, and reminding the world that our communities are here, have always been here, and deserve to be celebrated. Whether you're part of the rainbow community, whānau, friends, allies, or supporters, this is your chance to walk with us.
Bring your flags, signs, banners, costumes, colours, noise makers and pride. The more visible, vibrant and loud we are, the stronger our message of inclusion, acceptance and belonging becomes.
📍 Meet at Pākaitore, Taupō Quay
🕚 Sunday 14 June 2026 | 11:00am
From Pākaitore, we'll hīkoi along Taupō Quay to the City Bridge, turn right onto Victoria Avenue, and continue through the heart of Whanganui before arriving at Majestic Square.
At the conclusion of the Hīkoi, we'll hear from a number of speakers as we officially open Whanganui Pride Week 2026 and celebrate the strength, diversity and resilience of our rainbow communities.
Together, let's fill the streets with colour, pride, aroha and visibility.
