Craft-a-thon - Whanganui Pride Week 2026

How many unfinished craft projects are sitting at home waiting for "one day" to finally arrive?
Whether it's a knitting project that's missing a sleeve, a painting that's only half finished, a sewing project that's been sitting in a bag for months, or a crochet blanket you've been meaning to get back to, Craft-a-thon is your chance to make some progress while enjoying good company.
As part of Whanganui Pride Week 2026, we're opening the doors of the Pride Hub for a relaxed crafting session where you can bring along whatever you're working on and spend a few hours creating alongside others. There are no deadlines, no expectations, and no pressure to finish anything; just a welcoming space to craft, chat, share ideas, and enjoy being around community.
All crafts are welcome. Knitting, crochet, sewing, embroidery, painting, drawing, scrapbooking, jewellery making, cross-stitch, miniature painting, quilting, paper crafts, digital art, or anything else you can fit through the door.
Not currently working on a project? Come along anyway. You might find some inspiration, learn something new, or simply enjoy a yarn with fellow creatives.

Bring your project, your supplies, and your creativity. We'll provide the space, the community, and plenty of encouragement.
Because sometimes all a project needs is a table, a few friends, and a reason to finally get it out of the cupboard.
