About this Event
Getting ready for Ridgefest, market season, or online sales? This focused 90-minute workshop will help artists and makers price their products with more clarity and confidence.
Whether you’re preparing for your first booth, returning to local markets, selling online, or exploring retail opportunities, pricing your work thoughtfully can make a big difference. This workshop will help you understand what goes into your prices, account for your time and materials, and set prices that feel fair, competitive, and sustainable.
You’ll leave with practical tools you can use right away as you prepare your product list, booth setup, signage, and sales goals.
Workshop Objectives:
- Understand why pricing matters before you show up to sell
- Identify the real costs behind your handmade products, including materials, time, fees, and overhead
- Calculate a pricing formula that supports both confidence and sustainability
- Explore simple market research and comparison pricing techniques
- Think through event-specific pricing, including price ranges, bundles, and booth-friendly offers
- Gain confidence in setting, explaining, and adjusting your prices
Who Should Attend:
- Artists and makers planning to sell at RidgeFest
- Anyone preparing for a spring or summer art, craft, or makers market
- Handmade business owners selling in person, online, or through local shops
- Creatives who feel unsure, inconsistent, or underpriced
- Anyone interested in turning their art or craft products into a more sustainable business
The mission is to take you to the next step in your creative flow, entrepreneurship dreams, and for you to feel at home at the Clear Creek Makerspace. As a member of CCM you have EXCLUSIVE access to professional coaches.
Workshops with Coach Kate of guide participants in focused learning, development and conversation on specific topics, where she - along with additional subject matter experts at times - will provide specific guidance and resources; and answer your related questions. Think about everything from the maker’s mindset and burnout management to how to write a business plan; the nuts and bolts of starting a business; or building a brand and marketing strategy.
Kate Peabody, MBA, is an International Coaching Federation Professional Certified Coach pairing positive-psychology-based coaching with more than fifteen years of corporate & small business leadership, creative confidence and design-thinking experience. Kate loves being part of the CCM community to help makers balance work, life and time for their holistic wellbeing, and explore and take action on their potential as a professional maker.
You can expect to hear cheesy puns and alliterations, and see her learning and making in the space herself – as 75% of what Kate owns are art and craft supplies. Clay, paint, markers, chalk, charcoal, yarn, embroidery, stamps, paper and canvases, fabric, bits and bobs she thinks she could make something great out of…
